Fans of The Phantom of the Opera, a French novel written by Gaston Leroux, will soon be able to play a new jackpot casino slots title of the same name. The game is, in fact, based on the 2004 movie adaption, which is based on the 1986 musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
It will feature some iconic elements that the fans will love, such as the characters from the original film and the songs that go along with it. The new game will even feature some original footage from the film.
Microgaming Games Publisher David Reynolds commented that The Phantom of the Opera musical was played to 140 million people worldwide. He is excited to be working with a musical. The game is due to come out in Q3 this year, and it will be a celebration of the world's biggest opera. As far as the features go, the game will have free spins as well as additional goodies.
In related Microgaming news, the company has been awarded top honors in the category of Mobile Product at the 10th International Gaming Awards, an event that took place in London.
Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever said that they are proud to receive the award. He said that they predicted that the mobile would be the future of gaming way back in 2004. This is when the company created the world's first casino software, and it hasn't looked back since. At the moment, Microgaming has the largest selection of mobile titles, totaling at over 350.
Raatgever went on to say that the platform is the industry's future, and further growth is expected. He feels that it's great to receive recognition for their hard work.
In August 2016, Mega Moolah, one of Microgaming's jackpot casino slots with progressive jackpots, awarded €7,968,311.26 to a lucky player. This is the largest mobile jackpot awarded in the history of online gambling.
