Once again, the latest Jackpot Powerball drawing has seen no winners emerge, and the stack of money is increasing substantially. The next drawing will be worth at least $315 million with a cash option of $189.3 million.
Here are the latest jackpot-winning numbers: 5, 9, 17, 37, 64. Red Powerball Power number 2. Power Play number: 2.
As usual, it's time to go over the interesting statistics for this drawing. Two players managed to match all five white-ball numbers, winning $1 million each. These two winning tickets were sold in Puerto Rico and Missouri. Since the Puerto Rico player picked the Power Play option as well, their winnings will be increased to $2 million.
A total of 1,103,522 players managed to win at least $4 each in this drawing. There were 38,161 winners in the state of Michigan alone. One player from Michigan matched four white-ball numbers, winning $50,000, which also happens to be the largest individual prize won in the state.
If all of this has inspired you to try your luck at the game, we've got some great news for you! You can play Jackpot Powerball in 44 states, including Washington DC, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. In order to play, you have to pick five white-ball numbers (from 1 to 69), and one red-ball number (from 1 to 26). Each ticket costs $2.
While certain players like to go with their gut and pick the numbers themselves, a more strategic approach is to let the computer do it for you – 75% of the jackpot-winning players managed to take down the big prize this way.
The odds of winning Jackpot Powerball are one in 292 million.
